Gionee is garnering a lot of attention these days for it’s soon to be launched Elife S Plus.
While the smartphone has not been announced just yet, it is the hardware details, that seem to make this device an attention seeker.
Yes, and while the device is not official yet (and Gionee is still teasing the smartphone on its social media channels), phoneradar seems to have got their hands on one and leaked out all the details.
- We get a 5.5 inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection
- It will be powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6753 SoC coupled with 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage (expandable)

- More impressively, the device also packs in a USB Type C port and a massive 3,150 mAh battery
Lastly, we also have Android 5.1 Lollipop inside with Gionee’s custom Amigo OS running the show.
And then, there’s the pricing of this handset that has leaked out as well.
At Rs 16,999, it seems pretty much feature-packed doesn’t it? We could see this handset competing with the Motorola Moto X Play. But it is the Snapdragon 615 versus the MediaTek 6753 chipset debate that will be resolved only when we get our hands on one; even though the 3 GB of RAM seems promising in terms of multi-tasking. As for the launch of Elife S Plus, it is bound to happen soon, as the handset is being promoted on Gionee's official social media handles in India.

Chinese smartphone company Gionee is all set to launch its new smartphone, the Elife S6 on November 16.
While there is no much official information available about the device, a few reports suggest that the upcoming smartphone may be featuring a 5 inch AMOLED display while being powered by an octa-core 1.3 GHz MediaTek processor, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory.
Adding more on to the technical specifications of the smartphone, it is being said that the smartphone would be equipped with a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash and 8 MP front facing camera while it runs on Amigo 3.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
While the above information is nothing but a pure speculation, we expect the upcoming Gionee Elife S6 to be the same device which recently appeared on Tenaa certifications.
However, these features can only be confirmed when the company officially puts out the information.
To recall, earlier this month, Gionee also launched its smartphone Elife E8 which is said to be pretty slim. Likewise, we also expect the Elife S6 to also come with a slim body as the company is popular for manufacturing smartphones with slim body.
Also, recently, the smartphone company launched its very first 'Made in India' smartphone, the F103 under the partnership with Foxconn.
Gionee smartphones are said to be manufactured at Foxconn's Sri City facility in Andhra Pradesh.

Considering the price point and the technical specifications of the smartphone, we can clearly see a tough competition to Gionee F103 from Yu Yureka and Xiaomi Note 2 which come with better specifications.
It is also worth noting that the technical specifications may be not so impressive for many, but the company seems to be looking forward to attract the users with its design and the social appeal.
However, if you are looking forward to get your hands on the smartphone, you can hit various brick-and-mortar outlets in India by the first week of September.

Chinese smartphone company Gionee has launched its new smartphone Marathon M4 in India at Rs 15,499. The new smartphone is said to be available in both offline and online channels.
To recall, the launch of the new smartphone was announced back in June this year.
Much like other members of the Marathon series of smartphones, pthe Gionee Marathon M4 too sports a large battery with 5,000 mAh capacity. Having said this, the M4 is perhaps the only smartphone in India with such huge battery in the sub-Rs 15,000 price range.
The company claims that the 5000mAh battery can deliver up to 400 hours of standby time and 18 hours of talk time on 3G networks.
Speaking about the new smartphone, it comes with dual SIM card slots while supporting 4G network in India.
Apart from 4G, other connectivity options on the Gionee Marathon M4 include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, GPS/ A-GPS, and Bluetooth options.

China based smartphone company Gionee has brought in a latest member in to its family of wallet friendly phones.
Dubbed as Pioneer P2M, the smartphone comes with a price tag of Rs 6,999 and is said to be available through both online and offline retailers.
The smartphone comes with 3G support while it equips a 4 inch IPS WVGA display, 1.3 GHz processor coupled with an ARM Mali400 GPU along with 1 GB RAM and 16 GB of internal storage which can expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card.
The smartphone's camera section consists of a 5 MP main camera in the rear which is accompanied by LED flash and a 2 MP front snapper. While these camera specs may not be the mind-boggling ones like those in many of other smartphones in the similar price range, they still look manageable.
The handset’s connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, FM Radio, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 and A-GPS. It measures 124 x 62.5 x 10.9mm and weighs 140g.
Coming to the operating system, it runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based Amigo 3.0.
Having said this, the standout feature of the smartphone is that it comes with a 3,000 mAh battery which the claims to have a standby time of 300 hours on 3G and 340 hours on 2G.
While many entry-level phones don't pack with a battery with capacity, the company is probably hoping to appeal to customers who will have to overlook the otherwise ordinary specs of the device.
However, it doesn't look smooth for the smartphone to succeed in the competitive Indian smartphone market with smartphones like Yuphoria and Redmi 2 still trending among the fanatics.

Chinese smartphone maker Gionee has announced two new global smartphones at its Beijing event and both handsets come with some impressive specs worth talking about.
The first and the higher specd one is the Gionee Elife E8, which has been in the rumour mill for a really long time. The handset comes in a rather unique metal clad body, but clearly, that is not the important bit.
What this handset manages to do is go big on specs, those that can even put flagships from reputed brands like Samsung, HTC and LG to shame.
- We get a 6 inch WQHD (16:9, 2560 x 1440 pixels) AMOLED display with pixel density of 490 ppi that literally hugs the external frame
- The handset is powered by a deca-core, MediaTek Helio X10 processor clocked at 2 GHz and a PowerVR 6200 GPU
- Memory options include 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory, which is expandable thanks to a micro SD card slot
- The camera department is indeed something to talk about with a 24 MP primary sensor that allows for lossless Zoom up to 3X and can pull off images of up to 120 MP in resolution
- The secondary camera unit offers an 8 MP sensor
- We get the usual connectivity options including NFC and dual 4G SIM slots
- Gionee even managed to pack in a fingerprint sensor, which makes sense if they handset gets upgraded to Android M
- All of the above is powered by a 3520 mAh battery which is impressive considering the smartphone’s waistline
The second smartphone to be announced was the Marathon M5, which has been designed with just one thing in mind and that is the battery. The device sports standard mid-range specifications, but goes big with a 6000mAh battery.
- We get a 5.5 inch 720 p AMOLED display
- Inside there is a MediaTek MT6735 processor with 2 GB of RAM coupled with 16 GB of internal storage that is expandable
- There is a 13 MP camera on the back, while the front facing unit packs in a 5 MP one
- We get the usual radios along with a Dual SIM LTE setup, all powered by a 6000 mAh battery, which also comes with software optimisations that can let it be used as a power bank
The Gionee Elife E8 is a premium device and has been announced with a price tag of CNY 3999 which is approximately Rs 41,000. As for the Gionee Marathon M5, its a bit lower down the smartphone hierarchy at CNY 2299 which approximately Rs 24,000.
Both smartphones have currently been announced for China only but Gionee has plans to roll out this deca-core beast to its other markets as well.

Nowadays, battery capacity seems to have become a very important factor in choosing a smartphone. Many mobile makers globally are coming up with more capacity while some others have the dual battery smartphones in plan.
It is worth noting here that the Chinese smartphone company Gionee has also teased its M5 smartphone which is said to come with dual batteries.
However, Gionee is all set to launch a new smartphone with an enormous 5,000 mAh battery.
Dubbed as Marathon M4, the smartphone wrapped in a metal body is rumoured to feature a 5 inch display screen and is claimed to the Marathon M3's successor.
But, we haven't yet received any kind of further details from the official sources. Yet, we can pretty much guess that it would be having somewhere around 1.5 GB of RAM while the camera section may equip a 5 MP front camera with 8 MP camera at the back side.
The 4G LTE smartphone is mono block in design and rectangular with rounded edges.
However, with this being said, the 5,000 mAh battery capacity is expected to offer talk time of up to 65 hours and standby time of up to 463 hours.
Also, we expect the smartphone to be launched globally as the teaser of the smartphone availability has been published on the company's global Facebook page.
Apart from side, it looks like the company is getting ready to announce two other new smartphones next wee; the E8 and the M5.

After creating the needed hype, it finally looks like the Gionee Elife E8's launch date gets confirmed.
According to GizChina.com, the smartphone which is alleged to capture 100 MP quality picture is finally set to be launched on June 10 this year.
However, it is worth noting that the smartphone company has not yet officially announced the launch date, but it does look like June 10 is a lot early than we had expected before.

But, we are still not sure whether the June 10 launch is going to be a global release or the China only launch!
We also know that the smartphone looks quite bulky, thanks to Elife E8 being a target of frequent leaks and hands-on videos showing the design and confirming the hardware.

Just when news started surfacing about the new smartphone with 2 batteries, it looks like there is a competitor already in the segment.
While recently Innos D6000 was unveiled with 2 batteries totaling to 6,000 mAh capacity, Gionee too teases its smartphone which is also said to be having 2 batteries inside.
The Gionee smartphone dubbed as M5 is a mid-range smartphone with a 5.5 inch 720p AMOLED display and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop powered by a quad core 1.3 GHz processor, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory.
The smartphone is also said to be having a 5 MP front facing camera along with an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash.
However, we are still unaware about the battery capacity that comes with the Gionee M5.
Yet, Gionee M5 seems to be the first Android 5.1 Lollipop based smartphone with dual batteries.
It looks like mobile companies have found yet another niche segment to market their smartphone just like the pretty old and common dual sim support.
However, while including an extra battery inside the smartphone, the common tradition of making smartphones very thin might be at stake as an extra battery will relatively add its weight into the smartphone.
To conclude, coming back to the Gionee M5, the smartphone was teased with an outline of a handset containing two batteries on Weibo.

Gionee has finally revealed a few more information about its highly buzzed smartphone which is yet to be launched, the Elife E8.
To recall, the company had recently announced about the 23 MP camera that comes with the Elife E8 which is said to capture high quality photographs of 100 mega pixels.
However, the latest news is that the company's new teaser images give us better info about the camera that comes with the smartphone.
While one photo shows us the gold finish on the smartphone's back along with the alleged 23 MP camera with dual tone LED flash, the other one gives us better clarity about the zooming capabilities that comes with the smartphone.
We can also see that the audio port is visible on the top in the center while the microUSB port sits down in the bottom.
The speaker mesh is seen to be resting just above the bottom while the rear microphones are placed on top.
Another worth while feature we expect the company might offer is the 23 MP camera with lossless zoom which was first spotted in Nokia Lumia 1020.
To give better clarity, the lossless zoom gives better magnification and frame results in a negligible loss in quality.
Coming to the other specifications, the Gionee Elife E8 is said to come with an AMOLED display with 2K resolution and probably 6 inch screen.
The smartphone might also sport a 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of native storage while running on Android 5.0 Lollipop with Amigo 3.0 UI adorned on top.

Chinese mobile maker Gionee is all set to launch its new smartphone dubbed as the Elife E8 which is said to come with some great premium features.
The Elife E8, known to be a successor of Elife E7 launched in 2013, is revealed to come with a 2.0 GHz octa core processor coupled with 3 GB of RAM. Also, with a 32 GB internal memory, the smartphone is believed to be the best by the company so far.
[Also Read: Review - Gionee Elife E7]
But, above all, Gizmo China reports that the highlight of the device is the 23 MP rear camera which the company claims to capture 100 MP images.
The camera works much similar to the Oppo Find 7 which captures 50 MP snaps by actually taking multiple shots and combining them into one image of much higher pixels.
[Also Read: Oppo Find 7 Is The First Quad-HD Smartphone To Reach The Indian Shores]
However, while we do not know about th e display screen of the device yet, there are some news and rumours surfacing that the deivce might sport a 4.6 inch display qwith 1440x2560 Quad HD resolution and high pixel density of 639 PPI which is more than the Samsung Galaxy S6.
The device is also believed to be running on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box and is expected to reach the hands of consumers in the coming weeks.
Also, by looking at the recent launches of Gionee smartphones in India, we can pretty much expect the Elife E8 too to enter into the Indian markets pretty soon.
However, while we are pretty much impressed with the specifications and the camera details, one thing that makes a user disappoint is its screen size. A mere 4.6 inch display is definitely not the choice of many of the smartphone fans out there.

Chinese mobile giant Gionee is finally set to launch its latest flagship device, Elife S7 in India on April 4.
Powered by an octa-core mediaTek processor clocked at 1.7 GHz, the phone comes with a 2 GB RAM which is pretty handy when it comes to multitasking.
When it comes to memory, the phone has an internal storage of 16 GB which is quite big for a smartphone. But, sadly, there is no option to expand it.
The phone which is barely 5.5mm in its thickness comes with a 13 MP primary camera and also an 8 MP front facing camera.
The phone features a 5.2 inch FullHD AMOLED display that is protected by a Gorilla Glass 3.
However, even though the launching date is coming near, there is still no details regarding the price of the phone.
Also, it is worth noting that the Gionee Elife S5.5 and S5.1 have gained popularity due to their ultra-slim body, but have earned bad name due to some over-heating issues.
So, we just have to wait and watch how the latest Gionee Elife S7 would play in the Indian mobile market.

Gionee To Take Back “Slimmest Smartphone” Title With Its Elife S7
What’s the whole point of this exercise?

Gionee is back to finish what it started. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has sent out invites for the launch of its next device that will also take the title back from the Coolpad Ivvi K1 Mini as the slimmest smartphone in the world.
Yes, if you thought that smartphones could not get any slimmer, there is always a Chinese smartphone maker out there to make you think twice. Gionee started the whole slim smartphone race after looking at Apple’s iPhone offerings and now we have a whole category of slim smartphones by various manufacturers.
Gionee’s latest (unannounced) offering comes in the form of the Elife S7, which is a rather unconventional name to begin with. This is because the previous smartphone had model names associated with their thickness (Elife S5.5 etc.).
Rumours and leaked images (shown above) show off the ultra-slim handset that is said to rival the latest contender, the Coolpad Ivvi K1 Mini by just 0.1 mm at 4.6 mm.
While we like how they look, ultra-slim smartphones in this category usually come with below average battery life and lets not even begin with image quality and displays.
Indeed the last sensible slim smartphone option we saw, was Samsung’s GALAXY Alpha that also came with a capable processor to match the smaller battery capacity.

Gionee Launches Its Elife S5.1 In India At Rs 18,999
The device measures in at just 5.1mm thick, and features some pretty mid-range specifications

Gionee has announced the launch of its ultra-slim Elife S5.1 smartphone in India at Rs 18,999, which will go on sale during the first week of December. Measuring in a just 5.1mm thick, the Elife S5.1 is the slimmest smartphone ever from Gionee, but loses out to the 4.85mm thick Oppo R5 in claiming the world record.
Like its predecessor (the Elife S5.5) the S5.1 features a full glass and metal construction that lends its a premium feel. Under that slick body however lie strictly mid-range components, but that hardly steals any of the device's charm. Compatibility with LTE bands is a great feature, that's largely missing from the sub Rs 20,000 segment.
The Elife S5.1 features a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,280x720 pixels, and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, coupled to 1GB of RAM. On the storage front the device comes with 16GB of on-board storage, but lacks the option of expansion via a microSD card.
Sitting at the rear of the device is an 8MP camera, while the front facing unit has a resolution of 5MP. Given its size, the S5.1 houses a sizable 2,100mAh battery, while connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS.
The Elife S5.1 runs on Google's Android 4.3 JellyBean, which is rather outdated, and features Gionee's custom Amigo 2.0 UI on top. It isn't clear if customers will ever be treated to an update sometime in the future, but judging by the company treating some of its older models to updates, it is certainly a possibility.

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Gionee has just announced that it will begin rolling out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for its Elife E3 smartphone. The device will benefit massively from the performance upgrades that the newer version of Android brings, but comes at a time when Google's latest Lollopop build has started rolling out.
Alongside the OS update, Gionee has also added support for nine Indian languages – Punjabi, Hindi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marati, Bengali, Tamil and Telugu. The company's bloat loading hasn't ended with the newest update for the Elife E3, and the device comes along with WeChat, UC Browser, Kingsoft Office, etc.
Unlike most Android devices however, users of the Elife E3 will find it much easier to visit a service center in order get their devices updated. The KitKat build rolling out isn't available OTA, and for users willing to do it at home it will be available from the Gionee site, though the installation process is a bit complicated.
The Gionee Elife E3 was launched last year and ran on Android 4.2 JellyBean OS. The new update will give the device a much needed performance and efficiency boost, while also introducing users to a host of new features that KitKat brings along.

Gionee Marathon M3 With A 5000 mAh Battery Goes On Sale in India

Chinese smartphone maker Gionee has announced its latest smartphone the Marathon M3 in India. The company’s focus while designing the successor to the M2 was clearly the battery life, which delivers a talktime of 32 hrs on 3G networks.
As we all know, the battery is not everything when it comes to smartphones. It is all about the optimisations; and somehow Gionee forgot about the weight that this behemoth brings along with the massive battery. The phone weighs a hefty 180 gms without the battery and while Gionee has not mentioned the final weight of this champ, it will clearly cross the 200 gms mark when mounted on.
Any ways you can either carry around a spare battery and a lighter smartphone or you can go in for the Gionee Marathon if battery life is all that you are concerned about. Still then, the smartphone comes with some decent budget specifications along with all the necessary smartphone features covered:
- We get a 5 inch IPS LCD display with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution
- Inside, there is MediaTek MT6582 chipset coupled with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory
- External memory card support is available and it goes all the up to 128 GB
- The camera department consists of an 8MP camera on the back and 2 MP snapper for selfies
- The smartphone comes with the dual SIM functionality, FM Radio, Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth
The Gionee Marathon runs Android KitKat, is priced at Rs 12,999 and is available in stores in black and white.

Gionee Launches Its CTRL V4S Smartphone In India At Rs 9,999
A step up from last year's CTRL V4, but device does fall short when it comes to keeping up with the competition

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Gionee has launched its CTRL V4S smartphone at Rs 9,999 in India, nearly a month after the device was first listed on its website. The device brings an updated specification sheet when compared to the CTRL V4, which was launched in June last year at the same price.
The CTRL V4S features a 4.5-inch FWVGA display (854 x 480 pixels) and is powered by a 1.3GHz Cortex A7 quad-core processor, coupled to 1GB of RAM. The device comes with 8GB of on-board storage, but users will be able to take advantage of the microSD cards slot, which can support cards of up to 32 GB.
When it comes to imaging, the CTRL V4S features an 8MP primary camera at the rear, alongside a single LED flash module. There's also a 2MP camera up front, which should handle making video calls, but not for those hi-res selfies. Other hardware specs include a 1,800mAh battery, that's rated for 10 hours of talktime on a single charge.
The CTRL V4S runs Android 4.4 KitKat right out of the box, but comes loaded with the propitiatory Gionee UI and other bloatware installed right from the factory. Connectivity options include support for Dual SIM cards, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and FM radio, which is the standard fare at this end of the smartphone market.
Gionee will continue to sell its devices through the online as well as offline routes, unlike many manufacturers that are forging exclusive partnerships with e-retailers. While the CTRL V4S is a natural successor to the CTRL V4 launched last year, the specifications do seem uninspiring when compared to what the competition has to offer.

Chinese phone manufacturer Gionee has rolled out an Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for its Elife E7 Mini smartphone in India. However, the update isn't available to users over-the-air (OTA), instead it needs to be installed manually by taking the device to an authorized Gionee service center.
Apart from getting the many goodies of Android KitKat, users will also be treated to a new home screen design. Gionee has also updated its Amigo UI with claimed improvements in security. With the new update, users will also notice that the company hasn't loaded the device with as many games, freeing up space.
The Elife E7 Mini was launched in April, and is the second device after the S5.5 from Gionee to get updated to Android KitKat. The device features a 4.7-inch HD display and is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek processor, the same one found in its larger sibling, the Elife E7.

Gionee's GN9005 Smartphone Could Be The Thinnest Ever
Unfortunately the company hasn't managed to cram flagship specs into that ultra-slim form factor.

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Gionee proved it was king of the slim smartphone hill with its Elife S5.5, aptly named after its thickness. An Engadget report now states that the company has another device on the way that could be even slimmer.
Chinese authorities have certified an upcoming handset from Gionee, codenamed GN9005, which measures in at just 5mm thick. That's a whole 0.5mm less than the current Elife S5.5 and will most likely be the thinnest smartphone to ever hit the markets.
Courtesy of its slimness, the phone will strictly be a mid-ranger, featuring a 4.8-inch HD (1280x720 pixels) display. The phone will be powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor coupled to 1GB of RAM, which should make for some spirited performance.
In terms of imaging the GN9005 will be equipped with an 8MP primary camera at the rear and a massive 5MP front facing shooter for taking those all important selfies. Other technical specifications include 16GB of internal storage and a modest 2,050mAh battery.
While the specifications may not interest those looking at something like rival Xiaomi's recently launched Mi3, Gionee will still get some serious bragging rights for making the world's thinnest smartphone. That said, pricing will still be key in determining the success of the smartphone in the ultra-competitive mid-range market.

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Gionee launched its Elife S5.5 in India a few months ago at Rs 22,990, but was let down by its outdated software. Addressing the issue the company has now released an Android 4.4 KitKat update for the smartphone, which should go down well with its compelling list of specifications.
Users can install the OTA update by accessing Settings > About Phone > System Updates, which will automatically download the 865.71MB file and complete the installation. Given that installing new software is a highly battery intensive process, it is adviced that users begin the process on a fully charged battery.
The update not only ups the Android version from 4.2 Jelly Bean to 4.4 KitKat unlocking all its goodies, it also features a new homescreen layout. Gionee also says that the update comes pre-installed with Du Speed Booster for faster operations.
The Elife S5.5 features a 5-inch Full HD display, a 1.7GHz true octa-core processor and 2GB of RAM. The phone's 13MP primary camera has also received high praise by critics, and even comes with a 5MP front facing shooter.

Get Ready For A Chinese Invasion In Mobile Market
Made In China. The title defines everything.
-
Umesh daivanayagam
25th Jun 2014Made In China, from dolls to electronics our houses are filled with Chinese items, whether you like it or not.
For the past six years, the mobile market has been dominated by the Koreans (Samsung, LG), Japanese (Sony, Panasonic), USA (Apple, Motorola, HP, Dell), Taiwan (HTC, Acer, Asus), Canada (Blackberry). But since 2010, Chinese companies have been invading the sector, with companies like ZTE and Huawei, who are basically modem manufacturers.
It was the rise of Android that gave birth to new Chinese manufacturers like Xiaomi, Gionee, Oppo etc, and since 2013, they have joined the race and are threatening to eat into the market share of the 'so called' leaders. Meanwhile, another major player Lenovo is vigorously launching new phones and has improved its ability of transforming into a truly global player with the purchase of Motorola from Google.
These Chinese companies are also looking to hire the brightest minds in the tech world, just as Xiaomi hired Hugo Barra from Google to look after their mobile division. This is a clear indication that the Chinese are looking at the global market, even though currently most of the manufacturers are unpopular outside Asia. What's really impressive is their willingness to break the barriers.
It's not like the companies are looking to flood the low-end smartphone market either. The Huawei Ascend ,Xiaomi MI2, Gionee Elif and Oppo Find are a few models competing in the high-end smartphone market. Going by this trend, there are indications that by 2015 the Chinese may emerge as a market leaders in mobile sector.
Even though there is huge competition worldwide, Chinese can perform well in markets by making their phones cost-effective and launching variety of models. This will make it easier for them to pitch in across regions. The global mobile sector will double in size and there are a lot of manufacturers who are ready to enter the fray.
One such emerging brand is One Plus, with Pete Lau as its CEO who was previously with Oppo and then went on to start his own brand. The company's first phone, the 'One' has already created a few positive waves all over the world.
These are some exciting moments for the Indian market as this is the cynosure to all the brands. The Chinese brands too are looking at the Indian market seriously and in Q4 of 2013, a few of them have launched their handsets in the country. The latest addition is Oppo and Xiaomi, who have a few launches in the pipeline.
While the Indian brands like Micromax have got a foothold in the Indian market, there is still a lot they can learn a from the global ambitions of the Chinese companies.
Gionee Launches The ELIFE E7 Mini, Designed For The Selfie Lover
Sports an octa-core processor coupled with a swivelling 13MP camera for high quality selfies.

Gionee finally launched its ELIFE E7 Mini, a compact version of its big brother the ELIFE E7 in India at a price of Rs 18,999. Unlike the mini versions of most flagships, Gionee decided to add something to the E7’s smaller sibling rather than simply deducting features from it - a swivelling main camera, perfect for selfie lovers.
The ELIFE E7 Mini does not boast the powerful Snapdragon 800 SoC found in the original E7 but still includes a capable MediaTek 1.7 GHz octa-core processor which will run the most demanding applications with ease. Coupled with the super-fast processor, is 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, but strangely there's no option to expand storage. The phone sports an incredibly sharp 4.7 inch HD (1280 x 720 pixel) IGZO screen, which is housed in an attractive unibody design, complete with a matte finish.
The highlight of the phone of course is the 13MP rotating camera unit. Why have a brilliant camera on the back and a paltry one on front, when people now-a-days use both equally? Gionee thought of adding a swivelling camera module since it made more sense for those who like to click selfies and post them on social media websites. And yes, it does include an LED flash.
The phone comes with a large 2,200 mAh battery which should easily get you through a day of use with all that clicking. Sadly, the handset comes with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, which is a bit disappointing considering that Samsung has already begun designing budget devices that run KitKat.
The ELIFE E7 Mini comes with NFC and is available in dual-SIM and single SIM variants. The phone is available in some really bold and vibrant colours including Purple, Blue, Graphite Black and White—all of which come with a matte finish.
