HTC Announces The Octa-Core 526G+ Dual SIM Smartphone In India
In a sea of budget handsets HTC bets on a compact and attractive design with its budget offering.

HTC has announced its latest budget smartphone offering for the Indian smartphone market.
The handset sports a an octa-core chipset and a compact form factor that HTC feels is missing in the smartphone segement.
The 526G+ Dual SIM will come in two variants, one with 8 GB of internal memory and another higher priced 16 GB one. The specifications of both smartphones are identical.
On the software side of things we get a feature rich HTC smartphone with all the HTC goodies thanks to Android KitKat with a layer of the Sense UI.
In the looks department HTC seems to have gone in with a pebble-shaped form factor which although attractive, is a bit dated.
As for the hardware of the 526G+ Dual SIM:
- We get a 4.7 inch, qHD (960 X 540 pixels) display
- An 1.7 GHz, octa-core processor (unspecified) with 1 GB of RAM
- We get two variants of the device with varying memory capacities of 8 and 16 GB along with expandable memory via a micro SD card slot (32 GB)
- As for the cameras, there is an 8 MP camera with an LED flash on the back, while the front gets a 2 MP sensor
- There are the usual radios that include Dual SIM 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
- The handset weighs in at 154 gms and sports a 2000 mAh battery
The 8 GB version of the handset will retail for Rs 10,400 and is exclusive to Snapdeal, while the 16 GB variant at Rs 11,400, will be available at retail stores across the country. Both handsets will be available for purchase by the end of January.
