Samsung Sneakily Unveils The GALAXY S5 Active For AT&T

No sign of international availability just yet.

The Samsung GALAXY S5 Active has finally showed up and is now available for purchase on the American carrier, AT&T’s website. The GALAXY S5 Active has been leaked in a manner which is almost comparable to the HTC One M8. Images, videos it’s done it all! What was not known were the colour options, which are now said to come in Camo Green, Titanium Grey and Ruby Red.

The phone as leaked comes with the same specifications as the GALAXY S5 in America with the addition of the blue Active button and a ruggedized exterior which is IP67 and MIL-spec 810G certified. The certification apart from making the device water and dust resistant also makes it shockproof which is test to military standards. Inside there is the 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801, 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card slot. Also included, is Android KitKat version 4.4.2 and the large 2800mAh battery unit. The handset also retains the 16MP camera, heart rate sensor and the Full HD AMOLED display from the S5 as well.

The phone is certainly better than last year’s GALAXY S4 Active which came with a lot of compromises indeed. Announced only on AT&T for $715 (approx. Rs 42,149) off contract, let’s hope that Samsung launches an international variant of the same soon.
