Fitbit Ionic smartwatches burst into flames on your wriist

Wearing a Fitbit Ionic smartwatch can lead to burn injuries so stop wearing them ASAP

Fitbit has received over 100 reports of overheating Ionic batteries in the US.

In at least 78 cases, the consumer suffered severe burns.

Fitbit has pointed out that the ‘hot’ watches represent only 0.01% of the 1.6 million units sold, of which a million are in the US.

Four people suffered second-degree burns, and two of them got third-degree burns from wearing their Fitbit.

If you've got an Ionic, Fitbit says you should stop wearing it immediately.

There's an online refund center where you can set up a pre-paid return shipment, at which time you'll get a full refund.

Plus, Fitbit will offer 40% off any of its new watches, and hopefully those will not burst into flames.
