Reliance Jio Withdraws Complementary Benefits Of Jio Summer Surprise Offer

This action comes as a follow up to the recent order put out by TRAI.

Just recently Reliance Jio had announced its Summer Surprise offer that allowed Jio Prime subscribers three months of free services as a complementary. However, it looks like the telecom regulator TRAI has issued an order asking the company to withdraw the three months of complementary benefits of Jio Summer Surprise offer.

With this order being rolled out, Reliance has today sent out a press note stating that it is in the process of fully complying with the regulator’s advice, and thus will be withdrawing the complementary benefits available with the Jio Summer Surprise offer.

To recall, Reliance has, ever since its launch, offered free services - first three months under Jio Welcome Offer and next three months with Jio Happy New Year Offer.

While the company’s free service were supposed to be over from April 1, the company had announced another three months of free service in the form of Jio Summer Surprise offer, though this could be availed only with a Jio Prime membership with Rs 99 and additional recharge of Rs 303 or more.

However, following the TRAI order, the promotional scheme under Jio Summer Surprise offer has to be cancelled. The telecom operator has also mentioned that those customers who have already subscribed to Jio Summer Surprise offer prior to its discontinuation will remain eligible for the offer.
